The Commissioner of Heiban County in the Nuba Mountains strongly condemns looting of cattle and public property by armed robbers.

Saeed Kocho says there is insecurity in many places as a result of looting, Voice of Peace Radio reports.

He affirms that people have not been able to live and farm due to high tensions and security threats caused by armed robbers.

Kocho calls on citizens to refrain from such bad acts.

The Commissioner askscitizens to follow good advice from their leader Charles Tutu in order to live in peace and unity.

Looting and theft cases are common in some communities due to idleness by young people that leads to hunger and poverty.

The ongoing civil war has also contributed to looting and worsening of the security situation in many places.

The commissioner says peace and stability must be observed in his county to allow people to work in farms as to earn their food and daily living.
