The Governor of Kapoeta State on Friday visited areas of Kauto in Losolia County to address communities on consecutive lootings of food WFP gave to the vulnerable population.
There has been reports of robberies of Sorghum, oil, lentils and beans by the youth of Nawiyapak, Locomoropele ,Namurupus ,and Kuron Payams over the past months, Radio Emmanuel reports.
Speaking to media on telephone, Louis Lobong Lojore, says, the communities promised to arrest perpetrators to face the law.
The stealing of food is due to absence of security and small food which cannot benefit the whole population, the Governor explains.
He adds that the community and government resolve to cooperate to end lootings and ensure peaceful distribution of food when aid comes.
Governor Lobong reveals that the communities have arrested and fine nearly 30 criminals involved in looting food aid.
Radio Emmanuel could not reach WFP to tell the capacity of food looted from Losolia County in Kapoeta State.
This Wednesday, Kapoeta government is expected to meet WFP and its partners to discuss new measures of addressing problems of vulnerable people in the state
