Tobacco, opium and other drugs are dangerous to the health of human beings, warns a nurse at the Mother of Mercy Hospital in Nuba Mountains.
Ibrahim Yousif Ibrahim points out that people take them for enjoyment, not knowing their negative effects, Radio Voice of Peace reports.
Tobacco causes a number of diseases, Yousif explains.
The nurse spoke to Radio Voice of Peace on Tuesday marking the commemoration of World No Tobacco Day under the theme: ‘Tobacco a threat to development’.
The World Health Organization celebrates World No Tobacco Day on May 31every year.
