A priest of the Catholic Diocese of Yei encourages politicians to work hard to become holy people.
Fr Emmanuel Lodongo Sebit says it is not a sin to be a politician, but acts that do not help build the nation are the only things that God does not want, Radio Easter reports.
He discloses that Mwalimu Julius Nyerere in Africa is the only president the church is struggling to bless to become a saint because of his previous good deeds.
Christians’ vision should not be limited only on power struggle, Fr Lodongo emphasizes.
He says Jesus did not remain on earth forever, but did his part and went to His Father.
The priest was preaching at Christ the King Cathedral in Yei on Sunday.
