Women in Imotong State discuss issues hindering peace

Some women in Imotong State urge the national leaders now to decide for peace because they remain victims of the ongoing conflict in South Sudan.
 
Davidica Ikai during a one-day workshop says women are looking by all means to see peace prevailing for better services delivery to people, Radio Emmanuel reports.
 
Women can bring peace when they come together to challenge men, she believes.
 
Margret Itto, Imotong State Acting Governor, says economic crisis, hunger and insecurity have contributed to the suffering of women and children.
 
Fr John Opi one of the facilitators, says the one-day workshop was to encourage women to be strong peace makers within their communities.
 
Women at the grassroots level need to be educated through workshops to understand ways of creating a peaceful environment, he notes.
 
Caritas Torit and Justice and Peace Commission organized the one-day workshop at Fr Saturlino Hall in Torit on Thursday.
