Government will resume oil production in the former Unity State to increase from one hundred and thirty thousand to one hundred and eighty thousand barrels per day by next year, confirms Minister of Finance and Economic.
Stephen Dheiu Dau says oil operators in Upper Nile region have been instructed to increase their daily oil production, Radio Bakhita reports.
Insecurity and fall in global oil price forced the operators to reduce production to less than 130 thousand barrels daily, the minister told journalists.
Oil production was shut down in Unity State due to the outbreak of conflict in December 2013.
