As rain season intensifies, roads linking to food producing villages are becoming inaccessible to Yambio Open Market, residents have complained.

The situation is also worsened by poor maintenance of local bridges, Radio Anisa reports.

Some residents use a road from Ndavuro to cross five streams before reaching to Yambio town.

They say they are facing a lot of challenges when transporting commodities to market.

The residents say they have to move with several spare clothes to change after crossing each stream to the market.

Food items and property of citizens are normally swept away by water, they complain.

Feeder roads linking Yambio to Yabongo, Sakure and Rirangu areas are still to be constructed, says Engineer Richard Minzani, the Director-General in the State Ministry of Physical Infrastructure.
