The Apostolic Administrator of the Catholic Diocese of Torit prays for victims of Torit-Kapoeta road attacks.

Monsignor Thomas Oliha asks God for the quick recovery of people wounded and consolation of bereaved families of the dead, Radio Emmanuel reports.

At least five people died on the spot and others injured in two separate attacks on Friday, along Torit-Kapoeta road, in Eastern Equatoria State.

The top Catholic priest in Torit Diocese also calls for an end to violence in the state.

He urges communities to dialogue and forgive one another for peace to prevail.

Monsignor Oliha says the people should focus on the implementation of the peace agreement the opposition and the government signed in August.

One of the vehicles attacked near Idolu Bridge was travelling from Torit to Chukudum in Budi County.

Another vehicle, travelling from Kapoeta to Juba, with animals was attacked at 8:00PM between Hiyala and Tuhuba.
