Eastern Equatoria State capital Torit marks Islamic Sacrificial feast, Eid Al Adha in peace without major criminal cases reported to police.

Torit Central Station Chief Inspector of Police Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Lodu notes some Christians visited their Muslims friends after Eid Al Adha prayers, Radio Emmanuel reported.

The Chief Inspector commends citizens for observing the Holy day in peaceful manner.

A check at police crime logbook indicates only three suspects arrested in Torit town on Eid Al Adha day without specifying details of the offences.

Chief Inspector Lodu says that on September 21, Eastern Equatoria State citizens also celebrated the International Peace Day in harmony.

He attributes that calm celebration of events to community policing awareness efforts by the United Nations Police and United Nations Development Programme.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Lodu said the community realized the importance of living in peace through the crime awareness programs.
