The National Legislative Assembly sets five-member committee to investigate Maridi fuel explosion which killed about 200 people and injured scores.

Specialized Defence, Security and Public Order Committee Chairperson Samuel Duwar Deng told the press on Wednesday that the fact-finding team comprising residents’ is tasked to establish the cause of blast and assess the magnitude of damage caused.

He believes Tuesday night shooting in Juba City was a criminal act involving security patrol unit exchanging gunfire with armed criminals.

Defence Chairperson Duwar says there seems to be a real rebellion in Equatoria region linked to SPLM/A-In Opposition although the Movement declined to name its presence during their security arrangement workshop in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The Legislator believes some elements of Equatoria insurgents fight to get recognition since the Peace Agreement does not recognize their plights.
