Mother of Mercy Mission Hospital nurse says September 2015 has witnessed cases of malaria patients’ admission increasing in an alarming rate in Heiban County of the Nuba Mountains.
Stephan Yousif Saed explains that pregnant women and children are the most affected population in the community, Radio Voice of Peace reported.
The nurse discloses that more than 100 children have been admitted earlier in the week including at least 50 expectant mothers with serious malaria cases.
Nurse Yousif explains the dangers of malaria to pregnant mothers and children as vulnerable groups due to weak immune system, describing malaria as fatal.
The nurse advises masses to sleep in mosquito nets or keep their rooms warm to discourage insects from breeding inside.
