Yei River County Civil Society Organizations’ Forum is demanding commercial business clubs to regulate loud disco volume to avoid sound pollution in town.

Forum Secretary-General Mawa George Lazarus warns that high volume creates sound pollution in residential areas to the extent of disrupting conversation and sleep at night, Radio Easter reported.

Meanwhile Yei Municipality Acting Mayor Silvano Ali Sanguson has reportedly issued a provisional order banning late night discos from 08:00PM to 06:00AM with effect from September 2015 till further notice.

The provisional order stipulates fine of three thousand South Sudanese Pounds or one month imprisonment for violators.

The Civil Society Organizations’ Forum calls for review of the provisional order timetable for the convenience of business runners.
