The Guardian London based newspaper editorial team advised the world especially peace mediators and warring parties to urgently sign on South Sudanese people in the mediation process.
The Guardian editorship observes that if space could be created for internal mediation, the churches and others would rise to the occasion, South Sudan would be brutal and weak or inclusive and strong.
The Guardian says escalating atrocities such as the slaughter of unborn children and the castration of young boys is a warning that the worst may lie ahead.
The editorial observes that South Sudan was misconceived and that South Sudanese remain deeply troubled by their constitution.
It says South Sudan society is now bitterly divided, even among communities still at peace.
The editorial recommends Uganda and Sudan in particular to draw back and allow South Sudan a life of its own.
It suggests that external mediation would be best led by an eminent African mandated by the United Nations.
