Western Equatoria State Parliament on Tuesday discharged its members to go to their constituencies for a three-month recess until August 2015.

The Assembly Speaker Bage James Elisa declares the recess and congratulates MPs for their tireless work during the second session, Radio Anisa reported.

He recalls that the lawmakers passed three bills and four resolutions in 39 sittings and that the general education bill 2014 and county caucuses recess report were adjourned for the next session.

Speaker James called upon the executives to submit next year’s financial budget before June 30 for timely scrutiny and consultations, noting lack of cooperation from many state ministries and commissions.

State Governor Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro discourages the legislators from going to East Africa instead of sitting with their constituencies during recess, urging them to return to the assembly prior to July 9, 2015 to begin the new session.
