Wildlife forces in Eastern Equatoria State on Monday impounded a military truck carrying game meat from Kapoeta East County to Juba.

Wildlife Conservation Director Colonel Dusman Achila Mullah said one of two trucks carrying game meat was impounded while the third carried goats, Radio Emmanuel reported.

The Director said 30 bags of game meat of about 714 kilograms and 10 litres of ostrich oil was impounded at 5:00 PM.

Colonel Achila expects the army to be aware of wildlife Acts signed by the late Dr John Garang and President Salva Kiir aimed at protecting wild animals.

Legal Advisor Abraham Orubi Tong commended the wildlife forces for standing firm to impound game meat to enforce the law and the Transitional Constitution of the country.
