About one thousand six hundred people of Kwörijik-Luri of Northern Bari Payam displaced to Juba One Basic School in January following tribal clashes have returned home on Wednesday.
Central Equatoria Local Government and Law Enforcement minister Gerald Francis who accompanied the returnees told them at Kwörijik-Luri village to put God first and be strong in faith.
He told the people not to fear as police forces are deployed around the area, assuring them of calm security situation.
Sacred Heart Parish Priest Clement Tombe Massiminio called for reconciliation between Bari and Mundari for peaceful coexistence.
He earlier appreciated the state government’s efforts to facilitate the return home of the parishioners.
Juba County Paramount Chief Dennis Daramolo Fundi called on the state government to direct Mundari to leave the Bari land and return to their original areas to avoid further conflicts.
CRN journalist visited Kwörijik-Luri village and found that houses were reduced to ashes and all belongings of people were looted.
