Union of Journalists of South Sudan or UJOSS Chairperson called on state governments to embrace media for development.

Oliver Modi Philip argued that development of any state is evidenced through information flow, Radio Voice of Hope reported.

He recalled the difficulties journalists faced in South Sudan for the past three years including threats, detentions, intimidations and death because of telling the truth.

Western Bahr El Ghazal Information Minister Mary Karlino advised journalists to protect themselves by disseminating accurate and balanced information.

The officials made the statement during conclusion of observatory committee training on Friday in Wau.
