A girl was injured in the knee and head after falling from a cliff in Kumbur Payam of Heiban County in Nuba Mountains.

Umiama Ali Hamid Tutu’s left knee dislodged and wounded on her forehead after falling from about a ten-meter high cliff, Radio Voice of Peace reported.

The young lady receiving treatment at the local Catholic Mission Hospital on Wednesday said she only found herself on Tuesday morning bandaged in the ward.

Ms Ali said she was feeling better although she still experiences pain in the chest and neck.

The girl, who works in the restaurant at Kumbur Payam market, fell from the cliff apparently fearing MIG jet fighters which were passing over the area.

Many restaurants built along the Payam cliff pose serious risk particularly during the rainy season as it may collapse due to erosion.
