UN calls on citizens to work for human rights respect

United Nations Mission in South Sudan Western Equatoria Human Rights Officer called on the public to work together for respect and promote human rights in every society to improve lives of people.
 
Pillar Cuesta said there are 365 days to enjoy human rights everywhere in the world including South Sudan, Radio Anisa reported.
 
She advised learners to commit to their studies for the best future of South Sudan.
 
Western Equatoria State UN Coordinator Hailu Menkerios refuted some communities’ misinterpretation that human rights do not contradict South Sudanese cultures, preach wrong practices and encourage children to disobey their parents.
 
He urged all citizens to defend human rights at all levels.
 
The UN Officers were addressing teachers and students at Yabongo Girls Primary School Premise in Yambio during the International Human Rights Day celebration.
