Governor Lobong dispels rumours of eminent attack on Nimule

Eastern Equatoria Governor dispelled as ‘baseless threats’, the rumours that Brigadier General Martin Kenyi defected to SPLM/A in opposition and intends to attack Nimule in Ma’di Corridor, scaring residents and forcing 370 of them to flee to Uganda.
 
Louis Lobong Lojore in his two-day visit to Pageri Administrative area, urged Ma’di community to remain calm and desist from listening to wild rumours, saying General Kenyi did not declare his defection to the opposition, Radio Emmanuel reported.
 
Lobong praised the entire citizens across the state for embracing peace during the crisis in the country and encouraged them to hate war threats.
 
He also encouraged Pageri community to continue with their farm activities and business in a normal manner without fear.
 
The Governor urged the youth not to be driven by enemies of peace, but work to realize development in the state.
 
Pageri Corridor Chief Administrator Emilio Igga said security situation in the area is normal despite the rumours that caused many people to flee to Uganda.
 
Magwi County Commission Ben Kingston urged Pageri community to avoid the ongoing rumours in the area, saying maintaining peace is a collective responsibility.
 
He urged citizens to protect the existing peace and development in the state.
 
Mr Kingston advised the youth to embrace education for a better and bright future, saying days are over to praise people for war.
