Yambio Central Prisons on Monday received new musical instruments for the band and tested their sounds.
Prison Music Warrant officer Charles Mundara Elipaza told Anisa Radio that State Prisons Director Ramadan Bullen Laku bought the instruments including two big pianos, one mixture and a big sound system.
He said the instruments were to promote activities in the prison in order to boost the country’s musical industry.
Mr Elipaza said they would use the musical band for both the prisons and social gatherings to create good relationship with citizens in and around Yambio County.
The Warrant officer revealed a plan to promote peaceful co-existence through the use of music to convey positive impact messages on human life.
Yambio Central Prisons Parade and Music Band currently have two musical instruments.
