The International Rescue Committee on Monday launched a ‘respect and respond’ campaign to fight gender-based violence in Rumbek, Lakes State.
IRC Country Director Wendy Teuber said the campaign was to promote women empowerment and positive cultural norms in South Sudan, Radio Good News reported.
Lakes State Social Development Minister Monica Achol Abel said ending violence against women is a collective responsibility.
She expressed state government commitment to bring peace by disarming youth and establish agriculture projects and create technical work to keep young people busy.
The launch of the ‘respect and respond’ campaign was coloured with women protection music and drama from various women groups in Lakes State.
