Central Equatoria Education Minister on Monday announced that Terekeka County led the state in South Sudan Certificate exams as all its 141 students passed representing one hundred percent.
Hastin Yokwe said Tali Secondary School with 121 students took the second position with 100 percent passed, followed by Juba Diocesan Secondary with 92 candidates who passed all as the third in the state, Radio Bakhita reported.
He said this year’s performance dropped compared to the previous years due to government shifting from Sudan to South Sudan Syllabus.
Minister Yokwe announced that James Lomoro Raphael of St Comboni Secondary School was the best candidate with 90 percent pass followed by Rose Ambrose Gideon of the same School with 88.5 percent.
He said 2486 male students of 3379 who sat the exams passed and that 1634 out of 2165 female students passed, making them the best performers in the state with 75.5 percent compared to male students who scored 73.7 percent.
