Wau Catholic Health Training Institute in Western Bahr El Ghazal on Tuesday graduated 42 nurses and 18 midwives including eight males in its third batch.
State Health Director-General James Ukello described the graduation as a positive progress for the ministry, Voice of Hope reported.
He advised the graduates to keep their profession to serve human lives and distant themselves from politics as the state has a few health cadres who they cannot cover the entire Western Bahr El Ghazal.
Graduates Representative Betty Dunia expressed commitment to provide health services to South Sudanese.
Acting Health minister Michael Madut Chan urged the society to adjust their thoughts towards male’s midwifery as it takes both males and females.
The Catholic Health Training Institute graduated 27 registered nurses in 2013 and 42 nurses and midwives this year.
