Juba Orphanage girls on Wednesday called for dormitory separation with boys as they are growing up.

Girls’ representative during the opening of a dormitory built by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees or UNHCR, Sylvia Kiden said at certain age they need to stay away from boys, Radio Bakhita reported.

Ms Kiden called on the government and development partners to fence the building to create conducive environment for girls.

She requested scholarships for their elderly orphans who completed secondary schools, but lack of finance hampered their university studies.

Ms Kiden was speaking during the inauguration of the new building for girls at the Juba Orphanage Home.
