Upper Nile Governor called for reconciliation to foster peace and development in the state.
Simon Kun Puoch made the call while addressing Christians from all denominations, Muslim community and internally displaced persons from United Nations Mission protection site during a thanksgiving prayer at his resident in Malakal on Sunday, Voice of Love reported.
He supported all churches’ appeal for reconciliation among tribes and advised the Nuer to go and visit their Shilluk and Denka neighbours and tell them: sorry, sorry and sorry.
The Governor also called on all believers to strongly pray for peace in Upper Nile State.
Imam Abdallah Adhiang recalled how both the Bible and the Qur’an present the example of Joseph, wronged by his brothers, but was able to them, saying the same pardoning should happen in Upper Nile.
It was the first time that such a big gathering took place since December 24, 2013.
