The Catholic Bishop of Wau criticized the faithful on the use of contraceptives, saying the practice is against God’s will.
Bishop Rudolf Deng Majak told the faithful at St Mary’s Cathedral that the Catholic Church is not against family planning, but that using drugs to impede conception is against its doctrine, Voice of Hope reported.
He said obstructing God’s lifeline in unacceptable, adding that family planning should not be abused but be used for the purpose of child spacing.
Western Bahr El Ghazal health authorities earlier revealed that more than a thousand people were enrolled on contraceptives with Lokoloko health facility having the highest number.
The contraceptives include pills, injection and implant which can impede pregnancy event more than a year depending on the clients’ choices.
