Yei Catholic Diocese Vicar General on Wednesday strongly condemned the barbaric murder of former Mayoress Cecelia Oba Tito, her office manager, Emmanuel Lemi and of other South Sudanese.

Fr Zachariah Angutuwa Sebit told mourners at Christ the King Cathedral that the murderers are against the people of Yei River County in particular, relative peace in other parts of the region and the country in general, Radio Easter reported.

He said the killers of the former Mayoress and her office manager in Juba are fighting against the church and that the church would find them out.

The Vicar General urged the state government under Governor Clement Wani Konga to ensure that the army and police forces protect citizens.

Yei Catholic Diocese Secretary-General Fr Emanuel Lodongo Sebit in his homily, urged Christians to ask God for strong faith, trust, wisdom and accept what the Creator gives to them.

The priests spoke at Christ the King Cathedral during the requiem mass of Emmanuel Lemi who was murdered together with Oba Cecilia Tito in Juba.
