President Kiir regrets third Governors’ Forum resolutions’ failure

The President of the Republic on Monday while declaring the opening of the fourth Governors’ Forum in Juba regretted failure to implement November 29, 2013 Governors’ Forum resolutions.
 
Salva Kiir Mayardit told the Forum that state and national governments had no achievement made in relation to the previous Governors’ Forum due to the political instability resulting to untold suffering compared to liberation war.
 
President Kiir insists that decentralization system could be rich for development agenda all over the country if implemented properly.
 
He cited ineffective coordination among different levels of government, ranging from the local to the national, ushering in lack of development and inefficiency.
 
President Kiir disclosed that there is fresh fighting going on in Bentiu town of Unity State and that more imminent attacks are expected in the Upper Nile region as a whole.
 
Minister in the Office of the President Awan Guol Riak said the fourth Governors’ Forum expects to realize democracy, economic prosperity, peace, institutional efficiency and respect for human rights all over the country.
 
The fourth Governors’ Forum is scheduled to run for four days with addresses from governors of the ten states and the Administrative Areas of Pibor and Abyei.
