Wau Police in Western Bahr El Ghazal arrested all street children in Jau market who became violence after the death of their colleague on Friday.
A street child was allegedly found death next to a restaurant at the Market, prompting street children to pick stones demanding accountability on the death, Voice of Hope reported.
The violent behaviour led to the closure of shops on Friday that reopened on Saturday afternoon.
Police administrator Achuil Achuil said the children would remain in detention until further notice, and that investigation were underway.
He said two suspects were arrested but no clear information on the killing was established.
The police administrator added that medical report showed that the child died of internal bleeding without sign of physical injury.
Several cases involving street children in Jau market were reported and citizens remain worried with rapid increase of street children which could cause insecurity in the near future.
