Rumbek Catholic Diocese Civic Education Programme Officer said in Tonj South some few teachers have knowledge of the Transitional Constitution of South Sudan provisions of Customary Law and Children Rights.
Anual Rafango told Don Bosco Radio that out of 25 teachers concluding five-day training from 16 schools and 40 Parent-Teachers Association or PTA members, only a quarter know civic education on law.
The Officer explained that Tonj South was the last of the five places for conducting civic education training for teachers and PTA members.
Mr Rafango urged Tonj communities and teachers to disseminate civil education to town and rural areas.
Tonj South Education Director Samuel Mayiik said they learnt many new things from the training that could improve teachers’ standards on handling children rights and management in schools.
He advised PTA members to relate skills acquired from the training to children and parents at schools and families.
