Suicide cases reducing in Western Bahr El Ghazal compared to previous years

Western Bahr El Ghazal State Youths, Sport and Social Development ministry gender office released a report indicating a fall in cases of committing suicide mainly among women.
 
Gender Director Viola Phillip revealed 20 suicide cases as the world celebrates World Suicide Prevention Day ‘under the theme One World Connected’, Voice of Hope reported.
 
She explained that suicide cases report from 2012 t0 2014 showed reduction although at least 20 persons perished in the circumstance.
 
Ms. Phillip added that most suicide cases in various communities in the state are due to life depression.
 
She disclosed that her office managed to rescue four people out 20 from committing suicide in the state through psychotherapy.
 
Ms. Phillip pointed out that most of the cases are not reported due to transport and communication barriers.
