Yei River County Commissioner of Central Equatoria State dismissed rumours that SPLM/A in opposition forces captured Tore Payam.

Juma David Augustine on Wednesday told the press that the county is peaceful and no gunshots were heard for the last three weeks, Easter Radio reported.

The Commissioner said there is no opposition force in the county, saying Tore Payam is under full control of the government.

He refuted claims that Tore fell into the hands of forces loyal to Dr Riek Machar, clarifying that there is no commander of Brigade Seven at rank of colonel call William Francis in Yei River County.

The Commissioner was reacting to an article published by Nyamilepedia on August 19, alleging that a new defection led by SPLA Colonel William Francis captured Tore and declared loyalty to the SPLM/A in opposition.
