Yei River County HIV AIDS Commission in collaboration with Intra-health International trained hotel and lodge managers for two days on the prevention of the spread of the disease.
The Commission Chairperson Issa Chris Gordon said they identified hotel and lodges as some places contributing to the rapid spread of the disease, Easter Radio reported.
He explained that educating loges and hotel staff on the prevention of the disease would equip them with knowledge about HIV AIDS dangers and control.
Mr Chris disclosed that plans are underway to distribute condoms to all lodges and hotels and holding more training in the county to prevent the spread of the disease.
The chairperson revealed that the spread of the disease is increasing requiring much awareness on its prevention.
He urged citizens to voluntary go for test to know their status, advising those living with the disease to continue receiving antiretroviral drugs.
The training of the hotels and lodges’ workers is expected to conclude on Friday.
