Yei Catholic Bishop fulfilled his promise to visit Christians of Loa Parish at home after twenty-six years.
Bishop Erkulano Lodu Tombe told celebrants during the feast of Assumption on Friday at Loa Parish that his visit was a fulfilment of his promise to the Ma’di people at Ogujebe and Aleri refugee camps in Uganda during the war days, Emmanuel Radio reported.
Bishop Lodu, who spent five years as assistant Parish priest to Fr Julius I’da and Paride Taban in Loa Parish, said he feels part of the community.
The Catholic prelate said the 50 years that Bishop Paride Taban took in service as a priest were rich of experiences, labour and profit, citing Bishop Taban’s pastoral ministry, hard work and efforts to peace as some contributions and achievements.
He also appreciated the participation of the Emeritus Bishop in the recent peace negations between David Yau Yau and the government.
Bishop Erkulano Lodu Tombe joined Loa Parish Christians to mark the Golden Jubilee of Bishop Paride Taban that coincided with the Assumption feast.
