Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference or SCBC Secretary-General on Monday remarked that the closure of Bakhita Radio: the voice of the church at the service of lives is just ‘unfortunate’.

Fr Jacob Odwa told CRN that the church is seeking dialogue with government to agree on operation issues of what he termed the voice of the people.

The Secretary-General said there should be a forum for addressing any issue of concern with the government instead of the unfortunate closure of the voice of the church and detention of its News Editor Ocen David Nicholas by the National Security Service.

South Sudan National Security Service last Saturday stormed Bakhita Radio station in Juba, shutting it down, arresting several journalists, releasing others and continue detaining its Editor who read morning news service that day.
