A nurse at Mother of Mercy Hospital in Heiban County of Nuba Mountains condemned gender-based violence where husbands beat their wives.
Assistant Female Ward Nurse Michael Haroun Karala called on husbands to love their wives to reduce violence against women, Voice of Peace reported.
The call came after a man seriously beat his wife on Monday in Farish over a simple issue resulting into multiple injuries on the head and the whole body.
Mr Haroun said several cases were reported, recalling a one in which a woman died in the hospital after she was beaten by her husband.
He called on men to stop beating their wives.
The nurse said the hospital was shocked by increasing cases of men beating women, calling on men to peacefully resolve their differences in families.
