Christians of Our Lady of Assumption Parish in Torit Catholic Diocese are preparing to celebrate the feast of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven on Friday.
Apostolic Administrator Monsignor Thomas Oliha said the going to heaven of Mary both in body and soul was based on her faith that preserved the Mother of God from the original sin of Adam and Eve, Emmanuel Radio reported.
Monsignor Oliha said the Assumption of Virgin Mary gives Christians hope that they would one day go to heaven through God’s given values.
He encouraged Christians to emulate Blessed Virgin Mary’s faith, love and humility.
The Apostolic Administrator on Wednesday raised a catechist to the order of an Acolyte in Loa Parish and is expected to confirm a number of faithful on Thursday.
He said Assumption feast would also coincide with the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Torit Emeritus Bishop Paride Taban marking his 50 years of priesthood in the service of the Lord.
The Apostolic Administrator made the remarks on Monday before leaving for Loa Parish on Tuesday.
