A group of Western Bahr El Ghazal citizens raised opinion against the national capital transfer from Juba to Wau, saying it was President’s initiative not citizens’.
In a letter given to Governor Rizik Zachariah and read by the Advisor on Essential Services Andal Wathadala before the state cabinet, the group claimed that South Sudanese were not consulted about the proposal, Voice of Hope reported.
In their letter, the group recommended federalism as the only solution to the entire problems of the country, arguing that through the system, President’s power over the state would be limited.
The state government is yet to give official reaction to the matter.
