Yei Mayoress urged journalists to immediately report security threats they encounter for rescue, saying her leadership firmly supports media practitioners.

At the closing of a three-day training of journalists on self regulation on Tuesday in Yei, Cecilia Oba Tito told media personnel that unnecessary arrest would not happen during her time, Easter Radio reported.

Union of Journalists of South Sudan Secretary-General Edward Lodu Terso said they are working hard to solicit funds for more journalists’ trainings in the country.

He encouraged journalists who missed the self regulation course to be patient to attend other trainings in the future.

The training brought together journalists from Yei, Lainya and Morobo Counties of Central Equatoria State.
