United Nations Children Fund or UNICEF Global Nutrition Cluster Coordinator called for funding to reach one hundred and seventy six thousand severely acute malnourished children and with treatment, food items and logistics in South Sudan by the end of the year.

Josephine Ippe said another 420 thousand moderately acute malnourished children need money, but that UNICEF would manage to provide aid if resources were availed.

The Coordinator said it was difficult to reach conflict affected areas to access nutrition services for children, calling for humanitarian entrance to address their situation.
