Communities in two villages on Murahatiha and Tirangore of Hiyala Payam in Torit County, Eastern Equatoria in a ceremony at Seger, agreed to end violence and live in harmony after reconciliation to forget the past and open a new page.
King David Oyalala of Mayia Kindom and King Vitale Aburi of Hujang Kingdom signed the agreement on ha lf of the two communities to end hostilities between the two villages, Emmanuel Radio reported.
Speaking at the reconciliation ceremony, Torit County Commissioner, German Charles Ojok commended Nyong community for initiating the peace process.
He urged young people to own the agreement and protect it heartedly for the benefit of people in the two villages.
Eastern Equatoria Local Government Minister Charles Ambrose Lokonoi urged the two communities to desist from revenge killing because it causes more harm to the community and the government, warning against road attacks on cars.
