Cabinet applauds Education Minister for securing 1050 scholarships

The National Council of Ministers on Friday in its regular sitting commended Education Minister Dr John Riak Yoah for soliciting and securing 1050 scholarships for South Sudanese students at higher institutions in four African countries, encouraging him to seek more.
 
Government Spokesperson Michael Makuei Lueth said the scholarships are offers from Sudan, Egypt, Ethiopia and Zimbabwe for different post secondary school levels.
 
He categorized the scholarships as post graduate, undergraduate and diploma and that Sudan government gave 300, Egypt 300, Ethiopia 250 and Zimbabwe 200 scholarships.
 
Mr Makuei explained that the scholarships are for different specializations on technical skills.
 
The Spokesperson added that the Education Ministry would form a representative committee to carry out students’ selection for the foreign scholarships in few days.
