United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization or UNESCO in collaboration with the national Ministry of Culture concluded a three-week travelling exhibition on South Sudan museum in Western Bahr El Ghazal State.
The tour was to collect community identity from different location that would represent them in the national museum, Voice of Hope reported.
UNESCO Culture Specialist Ellen Lekka said the exhibition was meant to put the community in fore front in the creation of national museum for the next generation to get the history of South Sudan.
Ms Lekka said the tour was a pilot phase to test the methodology and that it would be a continuous process to be conducted in the ten states of South Sudan.
She said establishing a National museum needs community involvement to reflect their true identity that the future generation can inherit.
Ministry of Culture Undersecretary Jok Madut Jok said the museum would be a tool to fight tribalism and make South Sudanese less antagonistic to one another.
He revealed that the national museum construction is projected to cost 30 million US Dollars.
Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa funded the project.
