United States or US Special Envoy to South Sudan and Sudan said nobody was in a better position to bring peace in South Sudan except the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development or IGAD.

Ambassador Donald Booth commented IGAD’s response to the crisis in the first days, saying it has interest to help the young nation to find ways of resolving the crisis.

He expressed optimism that IGAD would bring peace to South Sudan because effects of crisis in one country affect the economic development of other countries.

The diplomat said US is fully committed to support IGAD-lead mediation to help South Sudan out of the untold suffering.
