WBG Public Service Ministry to pay gratuity claimers in 6 months

Western Bahr El Ghazal Public Services Ministry committed to pay all three thousand former employees downsized in 2008 their gratuities in six-month period with money from the national Finance Ministry to the tune of eight million South Sudanese Pounds. 
 
Minister Monica Sabino Madut told the press on Monday in Wau that her ministry paid 800, 000 to the downsized employees in instalments, Voice of Hope reported.
 
She revealed a plan to pay the remaining gratuity claimers in full before the end of this year.
 
Ms Sabino explained that the state decided to add 50,000 to the amount coming from Juba to meet the demand of the 3,000 gratuity claimers in a short period.
 
The downsized employees’ representative Mahmud Dehiya said out of 3,000 claimers only 28 were paid.
 
He added the committee is expected process a list of one hundred names for the third payment.
