The Catholic Bishop of Solwezi Diocese in Zambia said Seminaries and other houses of formation are important in enhancing the new evangelization.
Bishop Charles Kasonde in his presentation to the 18th plenary of the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa or AMECEA on Friday in Lilongwe, Malawi stressed the need for adequate training to future priests and other pastoral agents.
He said the role of priests is pivotal in the proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of souls.
Bishop Kasonde explained that houses of formation are the primary entry point for deposit of faith and on-going formation.
He added that through seminaries the process of formation, information and transformation of witnesses of the gospel begins.
