Yei Diocese Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan Bishop called on communities to coexist in peace and firmly discourage interference in war.

Addressing the gathering at the celebration of Emmanuel Model Primary School Day on Saturday, Bishop Hillary Luwate Adeba urged South Sudanese to stay united with Sudanese citizens and continue supporting peace efforts for children’s better future, Easter Radio reported.

He appealed to the government and the SPLM/A in opposition to commit to peace and end the on-going war.

On the same occasion, Yei County Girl’s Education South Sudan or GESS Coordinator Mary Zachariah called on parents and guardians to send their children to school.

She revealed that parents or guardians whose girls are studying in various schools would receive 125 South Sudanese Pounds next year as a token of appreciation, Easter Radio reported.

Ms Zachariah called on girls including those who dropped out to resume their studies because their education would be financed.

The Coordinator stressed the need for more community awareness through meetings, public rallies and talk shows in media houses on the importance of support to girls’ education.
