Juba City Mayor said signposts and billboards were removed from streets because they affect citizens’ lives by falling on houses and blocking roads when heavy winds throw them down.

Christopher Sarafino Wani told journalists on Monday that the city witnessed a lot of problems during the rainy season, Bakhita Radio reported.

He said billboards and signposts should follow certain standards by ensuring great quality.

The Mayor urged billboards and signposts owners along the roads and public areas to report to Juba City Council office for detail documentation.

He said after three announcements in the last two months, only three people reported to the office to register.

Juba City Mayor talked to journalists to clear doubts after the public reacted negatively through media houses following destruction of billboards and signposts.
