Western Equatoria Legislative Assembly on Tuesday discussed Education Bill 2014 presented by Minister Pia Philip Michael.
Speaker Bage James Elisa told Anisa Radio that the Assembly’s sitting number four was tabling the first reading of the Bill.
He said the Bill would regulate education including recruitments and behaviours of teachers, conducts and disciplines of learners, role of the government in supporting education and rights and obligations of parents and guardians towards education.
The Speaker said when the Bill was enacted into law it would help promote the education and livelihood of people of Western Equatoria.
He said the Bill needs critical study in order to come up with a workable document for the benefit of the entire community in the state.
